Twin Birthday Cards!

Mid-week again, crikey! Feeling much better this week too, thankfully, a bit more ‘with it’, if you know what I mean. Had a fabulous time at the weekend at the Great Northern Papercrafts Extravaganza in Harrogate, it was better than Christmas with 40 craft suppliers under one roof! It was a little bit bonkers first thing on Saturday with hundreds of giddy crafters, but settled down after a couple of hours or so. The only seat I could find to have my lunch was in my car, but Graham Norton kept me company and a phone-call to see how the boys were all coping without me. They had a great time going to Leeds City Museum on the bus and having giant scones with jam and cream. They get away with all sorts whilst the cat’s away! Meanwhile I enjoyed meeting Jenny Redfern at Samuel Taylor’s stand and watching her demonstrate her creative talents, and also got to meet a lovely craft blog friend Carole – who blogs at Card and Cake. It was great meeting people in the flesh that I know from the online craft community. Oh and I bought a few goodies too! Came home and built Lego with son number one when I was worn out and spent up.

I spent Monday making son number two’s party invitations with some of my GNPE purchases: memory box dies – bulldozer and dumper truck:

They are fab, aren’t they?

Last week after finishing the Ruby Anniversary card, I got started on two twin birthday cards for my mother-in-law and her identical twin sister. We’d all recently been out together and they were cooing over some real owls we saw, so I came up with the idea of doing two twin owl cards, using Kanban ‘Autumn Silhouettes‘ stamp set. Plus the free charm set on the cover of this month’s Crafts Beautiful included two gorgeous bronze coloured owls that were perfectly suited!

So – one in green with a hint of yellow and one in yellow with a hint of green!

The green:

Stamped, coloured with Promarkers, embellished with Stickles, die cut flowers curled and inked (aargh perfectionist eye just spotted one of the flowers in the wrong place!), heat embossed sentiment, liquid pearls, paper doily, and finished with a beautiful yellow ribbed ribbon bow and the owl charm.

The yellow:

The birthday girls celebrated yesterday so I can share now!

I would like to enter one or the other of these cards into the following challenges:

A Creative Romance – Seeing Double!
