The Arrival of Autumn

What a beautiful day today has been! Glorious sunshine and blue skies but with the cool air and the leaves changing colours, there’s no mistaking autumn. We got out this afternoon to Yeadon Tarn where I spotted this gorgeous red- orange beauty and couldn’t resist trying to capture it.

Yeadon Tarn 28th Sept 2013

It’s been a funny few days for me, I’ve felt zapped of my usual energy and enthusiasm and a little overwhelmed with things. Our calendar is well and truly booked-up at the moment and I think I’ve probably taken a bit too much on my plate. I even ended up going straight to bed at the same time as the boys last night instead of stubbornly staying up as late as possible in order to maximise child-free time. I think it’s a case of keeping my head down for the time being, taking the days one at a time, and making sure I take a breather when I get chance. A few more blue-sky days like today would help immensely!

I have desperately been in need of some card therapy and luckily have managed to grab some time in-between chores and childcare. I have used a ‘Bubble Bloom‘ stamp – ‘Clarissa’ from Craftwork Cards and my favourite – Card Candi. I really did get a lot of benefit out of making this one.

The stamp and sentiment are embossed with pomegranate Wow! embossing powder. The small dots are coloured with a few different shades of Promarkers, and the leaves with a Letraset metallic green marker. I have bought a few new dies this week, thanks to the 20% off at Handy Hippo and super quick delivery. The Memory Box Macarena Corner is one of them and was a perfect match for this stamp with the identical swirls.

When I was finished I decided to jazz up the envelope to match and made a little tag to go with the card.

Have a relaxing Sunday everyone,
