Sketch Card

A banging fuzzy head and time that goes faster than the speed of sound has limited my writing ability this evening. I would however like to share a card I made in the middle of a difficult day.

Coffee GirlsIt is a birthday card for a friend that I’ve not seen in far too long, in the most part due to work, geography and little people. This image makes me think of the great chats we’ve had, keeping each other’s morale up.

Coffee Girls 2014 224+sigCreating the ‘awning’ for the coffee shop was my favourite part of this card, and I love the way the sun is shining through it. The image is a LOTV mini masterpiece (pre-coloured) ‘Coffee Break‘, layered on a Spellbinders Floral Oval, over gold pearlised paper embossed with Intrinsic by Couture Creations.

I have used Dawny P’s sketch #87 on Papertake Weekly Challenge Blog to enter this week’s challenge. As Dawny says, sketches are great for ‘when your mojo has gone walkies’, so this was perfect as it reduces the frustration time and lets me have my card therapy.
