Realising Dreams

Life may be hectic but it’s never boring here in the Sheppard household! I may complain sometimes about how difficult it can be with small children sometimes but I really wouldn’t have it any other way. Having a family was a dream of mine for many years, seemingly elusive, until my 33rd birthday spurred me on to get proactive (Sealed with an email). Now here I am with my three boys, and grateful for everyday we have together. The littlest one is poorly at the moment, the only bonus of which is that we get to have prolonged cuddles as he snuggles up feverish and feeling rotten. He’s still having very strange dreams, the latest of which was about a sausage sat on a chair at the dinner table causing some sort of trouble. He’s taking a sword to bed tonight to fight him off if he returns. Our ever-inquisitive eldest is fascinated with what things are made of, so we get a series of questions until we’re down to atoms and sub-atomic particles (admittedly, my husband is usually answering the questions by this point, I’m better at the biology/craft/gardening-related questions). My dream for him is that he becomes all can be, whether that’s a rocket scientist, his current plan of becoming a vet, or anything else he dreams of. My husband? His favourite line is “but I made all your dreams come true!”, especially when I’m haggard and worn out with chores and childcare…

There was a point when my only dream was to survive the day, but as I started on my journey back to mental health, my creative streak was reignited and Card Therapy began. Then another little dream developed, and that was to set up my own craft business. Now I have finally taken another step closer as I managed to open shop on Sunday! Now it’s by no means the finished article, I’ve only listed three products, I’m pretty sure it isn’t functioning properly yet and there’s a lot of behind the scenes work still to do but I’m thrilled to bits! So, have a nosey, but make sure you check back for developments! Card Therapy has now also got a Facebook page so of course, life is complete (that is a joke, in case my dry humour is lost). I haven’t been able to get round my merchant plug-in yet to put pertinent information on the shop front, but 10% of my product sales will go to mental health charities. I owe a lot to the mental health care I received, so please share my website, you’ll be helping to raise awareness of postnatal depression, and helping me realise my dream and for all of the above, I am very thankful.

I would like to share a card I have made to add to my shop, for Valentine’s day or an anniversary.

Love GrowsAnother beautiful LOTV stamp – ‘Love Grows’, coloured with my Promarkers and then water-coloured the background. I have used a Spellbinders heart square die-cut and added the pearlised dark-rose coloured card behind it to accentuate the hearts. Liquid pearls have added a little texture. Sweet and simple.

I came across a brilliant little Tonic Studios tool recently that turns Accent punches into corner punches! Well, it was like Christmas here when I realised a £1.50 tool had just doubled the usage of my TS punches! If you haven’t seen one –

Tonic Studios ToolThere is the corner punch that provided the heart corners. How clever is that?! Hope you like the card!

Sweet dreams all,
