Prior Engagement

The excitement of school seems to be interrupting sleep patterns in our house, rather than prolonging sleep as I was led to believe! Somebody having the same problem proposed the full moon theory on Twitter (!), any ideas are up for debate in my book when it comes to trying to understand sleep and how to get more of it. We’ve been up since a very silly hour today and so this is a very quick post before I try to catch up a little tonight and keep my fingers crossed that the children are too exhausted to play their favourite party game of musical beds (only without the music and enthusiasm).

I am sharing an engagement card commission that I made at the beginning of summer:

Engagement cardI started with a gold pearl layer matted with white pearl embossed with Chantilly Frame – Embossalicious. Next I made good use of the Hunkydory Clearly Celebration stamp by repeating the champagne flute and then again with the little bubble trio stamp all around. I used superfine gold embossing powder to raise the stamp and give the image fabulous texture, and matched the Wild Rose Studio Romantic Greetings stamp with the same on a circle die-cut with a dipped and embossed edge.

The plain wooden heart is also embossed to match and give it a metallic look.

Engagement cardGorgeous wide gold organza with a metal rose charm.

I wanted the inside to be decorated also:

Engagement cardThis is from Lili of the Valley Quotables stamps – Love – Set 65, embossed in white for contrast. On the other side I popped a Memory Box heart die-cut to embellish.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly – Repeat, repeat

Sweet Stamps Challenge Blog – Challenge #186 – Wedding

The Ribbon Girl – Add Ribbon Card Challenge

Now if you’ll excuse me I have a prior engagement with some zzzzzzzzzzzzz’s
