How could I resist when I saw a Facebook suggestion from MIND the mental health charity requesting volunteers to hold their own fundraising Christmas Crafternoon? It was right up my street, and quite a few others, as there are now over 250 people registered to hold one up and down the country over the next few weeks.
It seems everyone wants sponsoring for something this last year or two, including me with my Sahara Trek, different charities close to people’s hearts, but all very worthy. The beauty of these Christmas Crafternoons is that you are getting something in return for your sponsorship – and if that helps raise money for severely underfunded services then that’s great. All the ‘Crafternooners’ have their own crafty ideas, but of course mine will be card-making.
For just £5 (when most card classes cost around £10 or £12) you can come to my Crafternoon and have a guided tutorial whilst you ‘make and take’ home your own unique handmade Christmas card! My venue has a coffee house and I will also be providing cake, a raffle and maybe you can even take home a second hand book for some small donations too? What’s not to love about crafting, cake, coffee and chat for a couple of hours? Come on, get in touch and I will give you the details!
If you need further persuasion here is a sneak peak at the card you’ll be making (your own version of – don’t worry I will help you!):
I hope you can join me, or another Crafternoon near you.
