Love & Marriage

Verrrrrry quick post tonight as really want to enter a challenge that closes in a few minutes! So here is the second of the two wedding cards I had on my ‘to do’ list. Same stamp – LOTV ‘Over The Threshold‘ – as the first in ‘Worrisome Weekend & Wonderful Weddings‘ but different everything else.

Wedding Card

I fancied doing some hand stitching so edged around the happy couple with silver thread. I also wanted to incorporate some bunting, first trying with the Sew Easy Stitch Piercer – Banners, but I didn’t like the look, especially with the Sew Easy thread, which is quite thick. After sketching out a bunting design, I pierced it freehand, and used the more delicate silver thread again. I stamped the bride and groom’s initials on the bunting to personalise.

I added a LOTV sentiment stamp, embossed in white, on a JustRite Label Die.

I have used a silver pearl paper as the first matting layer with Papermania Glitter vellum – Isabella – overlaid.

Wedding Card Wedding CardI also embellished a frame so that the card can be kept as a keepsake – if so desired!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The Ribbon Girl – April Lovely Lili Challenge

As You Like It Challenge – Favourite Stitching – Real or Faux? – I prefer real because it’s very therapeutic in itself, just to sit and stitch. I also love the extra texture it adds to the card and it demonstrates care and time taken.

Crafty Ribbons Challenge – #85 Anything Goes With Ribbon

  1. WOW!!!!!!! Emma this absolutely GORGEOUS……………so much love and work in this card. Your attention to detail is amazing, I bet it took forever. I am sure the recipients will put it in your fabulous frame and cherish for ever! Wonderful!! Hugs xxxx

    • Thank you Carole! It was on my desk for more than a week, all I could manage was a bit here and there with the boys off nursery! I stamped the image and did the colouring a few weeks ago but the rest was a loooooong creative process! xxx
