The last Saturday of our summer holidays has arrived, pleasantly so, with a long deep sleep and hot cross buns in bed (thank you thoughtful husband). So long Summer! I’m feeling slightly wistful about the end of this era with my children, but more excited about the times ahead, as we all prepare for full time school (and pre-school) next week. I loved my time at school, had teachers I adored, made some great friends and had a LOT of fun. I just know the boys are going to relish their time at school, it’s a fantastic school, they will blossom even more than they have already and add a lot of joy to their classrooms. It makes me so happy that they are going together, as they really are best friends. They will see each other at breaks and lunchtime, so will be a comfort as they settle in. My husband always says they will be each other’s longest relationship, which is lovely, and I feel proud we have given them that.
Yesterday we had an early celebration for one of my son’s best buddies, who turns five on his first day of school next week – bless. I followed a sketch from Papertake Weekly to join in with this weeks challenge:
Here is my take on the sketch:
Another lovely LOTV image ‘Scooter Boy’, he is a little Christmassy with that hat, but very sweet. I have only realised when looking at this picture last night, that I have forgotten to colour the ground, oh dear looks like he’s scootering on snow! Another addled brain moment I think. Never mind!
I have used Tonic Studios Square dies, which I think are such good value in comparison to Spellbinders. You get 14 dies (on its own magnetic sheet) all ready to matt and layer, as opposed to having to buy both the large and small sets in Spellbinders before you are able to do a quarter inch layer. Mirri card with Memory Box Parker Alphabet dies add the number and name, with Papermania for the coloured card and DCWV All About Boys paper stack for the starry paper. All finished off with a stripe of baby blue wonky grosgrain – that’ll teach me for buying cheap!
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
