My husband and I celebrated our ‘wooden’ wedding anniversary last week and took advantage of school hours for a romantic escape! Off we went to York for a stroll around the city where we got married and then a little picnic in the Museum gardens. A very nice happily-married-for-44-years man kindly helped us capture a re-enactment of one of our wedding pics:
Only I forgot which side I was supposed to be stood on, and we were joined by a little boy playing hide and seek. Actually come to think of it, there’s a little boy playing hide and seek on the other one too!
Okay so we’re a little more jagged at the edges, a little heavier (ahem), and certainly a lot more cream crackered than we were then but hey, we are about to turn 40 and have two whippersnappers testing our parenting skills several hundred times a day. My eyes won’t tolerate contact lenses anymore and I blame that for the blurring of our current shot – you really don’t want to see us in sharp focus anyway…
My husband surpassed himself with my anniversary gift – 5 trees from the Woodland Trust that we can go and visit, and a poem that he made up all by himself to go with it:
I think this might be the first CAS (clean and simple) card that I have ever done. Very tricky! The stamp is ‘Teddy Romeo‘ and I won it on the LOTV Ideas to Inspire Blog. Lucky girl, I know! Coloured with my Promarkers and blender pen.
I did attempt to stamp the sentiment straight onto the card, however let’s just say an ‘opportunity’ arose for me to do a layered sentiment instead…
Can’t keep my eyes open, so better get to sleep,
