We seem to have double trouble in our house at the moment – a fiercely independent two year old who insists on doing everything himself (which is usually the hard and very very slow way) and a fiercely defiant four year old who just refuses to do anything asked or expected of him, preferring to do the absolute opposite instead. Or another alternative of our eldest is just to repeat everything I say, in the way that the really annoying kids at school used to do, to amuse themselves. I don’t seem to know what the heck I’m supposed to be doing, parenting-wise. Everything seems to be a battle, but I don’t know where my armour is, never mind the ammunition. I could do with a little help from some sort of pre-school whisperer I think. Plus we’re in the danger zone, hormonally speaking, although it doesn’t seem as bad this month. If it isn’t as bad, it’s not because of me heeding the advice given, because the incessant rain and the children chasing me into the utility for my chocolate crutch really has been the straw that’s broke the camel’s back these last few days. Anyway enough of that, it’s all peaceful now, so I better enjoy it whilst it lasts…
In-between battles of wills, I have of course tried to utilise my card therapy to give me a positive focus. I had a card to make for my sister-in-law’s birthday (Happy Birthday Mandy!), and decided to use the same image as I did for the card in my last post, but to try a different set of colours. Little brown mice instead of grey, and blueberry jam filling instead of strawberry, among others!
The stamp is from LOTV ‘Sprinkled with Sugar‘, coloured with my Promarkers, with a final touch from Stickles Stardust.
I love blues and yellows together so that’s why I picked the papers. I inked up a Craftwork Cards sentiment to match the yellow, and picked three yellow roses, die cut some leaves and tried a bit of flower arranging!
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
