There’s something about the passage of time after you have children, perhaps it’s the pace of life, the chaotic days, or simply watching the miraculous development of the human being that exists because of you; but months and years seem to pass by in a heartbeat. Tonight I had a heart in my mouth moment, when I put my sons’ new school uniforms on them. It sounds so mundane, and you can look at photos of other people’s children on their first day at school, in their new uniform and think ‘cute’ but nothing more than that. My goodness, I was only trying their shirts on, just to check the fit and get them softened up in the wash before next week. Next thing I knew, we all got excited and started putting on ties and jumpers. I couldn’t believe my eyes. My baby boys, looking so smart and grown up. Our youngest even said “I’m a doctor!”, all proud. Not sure where that idea came from, perhaps Dr. Ranj has something to do with it!
It doesn’t seem like five minutes since our first baby had his first birthday, we even came over to Yorkshire and spent the day at Eureka. That very same baby was running around Eureka again last week, now standing 112cm tall, and about to turn five in just a few short weeks. Sometimes I could burst with love when I look at them both (I could also breathe fire sometimes, they drive me so bonkers, but that’s parenting!).
Enough gushing and onto my card, whilst on the theme of first birthdays, this was made for another gorgeous boy who turned one recently.
The stamp is LOTV ‘Bang the Drum’, so cute, I’ve been desperately waiting for a boy’s first birthday to use it! Although saying that, I’m sure I could make it girly and add a bit more hair or something. Coloured with Promarkers:
The train punch is Martha Stewart, with a train peel-off on the insert.
I’d like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Thank you so much for stopping by!
